Summertime. Hot temps, cold drinks, 4th of July picnics, outdoor concerts, lake weekends, relaxing by the pool or strolling on the beach… making warm memories that will last a lifetime.
Sounds idyllic, right? A perfect summer is easy and breezy, filled with umbrella drinks and strapless tops. But for many of us, summer isn’t that simple.
We spend a good deal of time worrying about that weight we gained during the winter months, with plans to lose it all in the spring that never quite came to fruition.
Arms that wave back at us and a “16-pack” can cause major stress as we stand in that department store dressing room, staring into that evil invention called MIRROR, lamenting out loud, “Seriously, I’ll spend my entire vacation fund on my A/C bill and stay put till September!”
Summer may bring a savage tan, but it can also bring out the body image issues that we all face. Even the most svelte-figured gal secretly hates something about her body – boobs (wish they were bigger) or thighs (wish they were smaller) – the list goes on and on. No one’s really safe from the infernal heat of summer – OR the grip of insecurity that arrives on June 1.
So, what’s a girl to do? In addition to a healthy diet and regular exercise (which make sense no matter WHAT your body looks like), consider boudoir photography. I know it seems counter-intuitive — but stick with me. Yes, someone will see everything you’re trying to hide, but if that someone is Julia Vie, then you’ll be made in the summer shade!
