One of today’s hottest wedding trends, boudoir photography has caught on across the country, and brides everywhere are signing up and stripping down for classic, sultry photos that show them in their sexiest light.
At Vivian’s Muse, we’ve been bringing boudoir to Austin brides for years. If you’ve heard of the trend but just aren’t sure what it’s all about, here are a few details from studio owner/photographer Julia Vie to get you up to speed.
So, what exactly IS Boudoir?
Boudoir is a hot photography trend that’s gained widespread popularity in recent years among brides-to-be. In a boudoir session, you’ll pose in a sexy setting wearing either just a little lingerie or… well, nothing at all.
The photos are rarely X-rated – nudity is usually implied rather than overt, and your modesty can be protected with props or creative posing. Not wanting to wear lingerie? No worries! You can always wear your wedding dress or a sexy little black dress. You don’t have to bare all to be fabulous!

What should I wear?
When selecting your wardrobe for boudoir, the best choices are always those that make you FEEL your sexiest. Whether that’s racy lingerie or just panties and a plain white button-down, you’ll always look your best when you feel comfortable and confident.
A few quick tips: Bring something white, something black and something in a bright color to mix and match. A corset will create sexy curves. And in addition to your lingerie/clothing selections, don’t forget the shoes, jewelry, and that engagement ring!
